Unbelievable

I took the Oral Defense Draft of my dissertation to the print and copy shop yesterday. As I handed the disk over to the guy behind the counter I could feel my fingers not wanting to let go. Literally.

I made them let go. I gave them a direct order, which they followed, but then, it hit me that the unbelievable is becoming believable. I have "finished" a dissertation. I am going to defend a dissertation, and I may actually graduate. My professional signature may actually, in the near future, be followed by the letters Ph and D.

Holy carbuncles. I'm not sure I really know quite what to do with that.
